We provide our customers with innovative solutions that help them differentiate their own offerings in the Data Storage, HPC and Cloud computing markets.The System Integration Test’s role is to conduct integration and verification testing on the company’s leading edge storage technology solutions prior to shipment to our customers.The role of the Test Engineer will be to support the test leadership team by conducting routine and detailed engineering tests against specifications and defined test descriptions, raising defects against tests that fail.Our products employ EBOD and x86-based controllers integrated with a variety of drive technologies and other interfaces: SAS, SATA, on rotating and solid state media, PCI devices, iSCSI and Infiniband.The successful candidate will the basic knowledge of the software development, test process and will have an affinity with technology.This is very much a hands-on role utilizing a broad range of skills including embedded software / firmware engineering, but also electrical / electronic and mechanical. It also involves the assembly, installation and configuration of test systems, installation of operating systems and other software, the running of tests and the interrogation of systems via the o/s command line and other tools. Duties and Responsibilities- System Integration testing (SIT) on storage products on various o/s, e.g. Linux, Unix and Windows- Bring-up, testing and acceptance of x86-based embedded server architecture, h/w and f/w- Executing tests to a plan and reporting progress via our own web-based management system- Raising and tracking defects in Jira- Carrying out sanity checks on new code builds and subsequent functional testing- Performing performance, stress, data integrity, integration and regression testing- Retesting and verification of defects- Installation and configuration of lab equipment and test systems i.e. hardware modules, cabling, operating systems, software and advanced analysis tools
Qualifications
Required Qualifications/Education/Skills:- BS Degree or qualified in computer science or electronic engineering, lower level qualifications will be considered with relevant experience- High degree of self-motivation and autonomy, but with the ability to work as part of a team- Excellent communication skills- Ability to act clearly while working under pressure to meet strict deadlines- Problem solving skills- Understanding of the software development lifecycle
